About Sophie

Sophie Grace Johnson is a copywriter, journalist, and author based in New York City and originally from the U.S. Virgin Islands. Her first job upon moving to New York was at VH1 and MTV Networks, where she worked on the series Behind the Music and other music documentaries. While there, her freelance journalist career, under the nom de plume Sophie Saint Thomas, took off. She's written for GQ, CosmopolitanPlayboyGlamourAllure, Harper’s Bazaar, and countless others, in addition to holding staff positions at VICE Media and Refinery29. Brooklyn Magazine named her one of their 30 Under 30s for her work as a journalist. She's also the author of six non-fiction books, including Reproductive Rites: The Real-Life Witches and Witch Hunts in the Centuries-Long Fight for Abortion. After taking an advertising class through SVA, she fell in love and is now pursuing a career as a copywriter.
